Entertaining TV and Broadcast standard professional band
Stable personnel, rehearsed and reliable
Massive, across the styles repertoire
Described by The Daily Telegraph as
one of the most entertaining
jazz groups in the UK", The Dutch Lewis Broadband works continuously
across the whole spectrum of jazz venues; festivals, clubs, hotels and
private functions in the Midlands, UK and further afield.
A blend of classic 'Blue Note' era modern jazz, tempered with 1940's
Be-Bop, 1930's swing and a big slice of rhythm and blues features Dutch
Lewis's inimitable vocal styles recently described by a distinguished
listener as Tony Bennet meets Van Morrisson.
A band that can play for dancing with Rhythm 'n' Blues and Soul never
far away from the centre of things. They even have a proper ballroom dancing
book when required, not to mention Italian and French songs and the justly
famous Festive Season Songbook.
The band's sound is built around the funky saxophones of Dutch
and Jayne Lewis and their equal ability
as vocalists both individually and in duets. Add some extra flavouring
of flute and clarinet, simmer or bring to the boil with their great rhythm
section, and the musical hotpot really cooks.
